604 new Coronavirus cases have been confirmed by the Ministry of Health, as Kenya’s cases shoot to 42,541. The cases were picked from 5,832 samples tested in the last 24 hours, with cumulative tests conducted now at 601,623. Of the new cases, 400 are males while 204 are females, with 583 being Kenyans and 21 foreigners.
The youngest is a 5month-old infant while the oldest is 94 years old. 88 patients have been discharged in the last 24 hours, 56 from the home based care program and 32 from different health facilities. The recoveries have now risen to 31,428. However, 10 more patients have succumbed to the virus, with the fatalities now at 797.
The cases in the Counties are distributed as follows: Nairobi 125, Nakuru 113, Mombasa 87, Busia 35, Uasin Gishu 33, Trans Nzoia 25, Kiambu 25, Kisii 24, Kisumu 24, Kajiado 16, Nandi 13, Kakamega 12, Meru 11, Machakos 7, Siaya 7, Garissa 7, Murang’a 5, West Pokot 5, Nyeri 5, Turkana 4, Laikipia 3, Wajir 3, Embu 2, Kirinyaga 2, Narok 2, Marsabit 2, Taita Taveta 2, Kitui, Nyamira, Tharaka Nithi, Kilifi and Nyandarua 1 case each.
