Coronavirus cases in Kenya have risen to 35,603 in Kenya after 143 new cases were confirmed by the Health Ministry. The new cases were from 3,854 samples tested in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative tests to 485,836.
Speaking during the Covid-19 briefing, Health CAS Rashid Aman said all are Kenyans except 14 who are foreigners. The youngest is a 9-month old infant while the oldest is 83-years old.
490 patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in Kenya so far to 22,047. Of those discharged, 248 are from the home based care program while 242 were discharged from various health facilities. However, the fatalities have risen to 612, after 5 patients succumbed in the last 24 hours.
Nairobi led in the daily positivity rate, recording 35 cases in the last 24 hours. In the Counties, Nairobi has the highest number of new cases, with 35 followed by Kitui which has 23. Mombasa has 9, Garissa has 9, Kiambu has 9, Nakuru has 9, Kilifi has 8, Turkana has 7, Kajiado has 5, Machakos has 5, Kisii has 4, Kisumu has 4, Embu has 2, Makueni has 2, Trans Nzoia has 2, Nyeri has 2, Uasin Gishu has 2, while Migori, Busia, Isiolo, Taita Taveta and Meru Counties have 1 case each.
