Kenya’s Coronavirus cases have risen to 31,763 after 322 people tested positive in the last 24 hours from a sample size of 4,470. 313 of these are Kenyans while 9 are foreigners, and 179 are males while 143 are females.
Speaking to the press at Afya House on Friday, Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said 288 patients have recovered in the same time frame, 190 from the home based care and 98 from different hospitals. The total recoveries are now at 18,157. However, 16 people have succumbed to the virus, with total deaths since the first case was reported in Kenya on March rising to 532.
Nairobi County is still recording a high number of infections, with 106 new cases. Kajiado has 53 cases, Machakos has 25 cases, Nakuru has 25 cases, Kiambu has 23 cases, Kisii has 23 cases, Busia has 13 cases, Mombasa has 11 cases, Kisumu has 5 cases, Bomet has 5 cases, Garissa, Homa Bay and Nandi have 4 cases each, Uasin Gishu, Kitui, Nyandarua, Taita Taveta and Turkana have 3 cases each, Nyamira has 1 case, Kericho, Murang’a, Vihiga, Makueni have 1 case each.
