Nine more people have tested positive for the Coronavirus, bringing the total number of patients to 59 in Kenya. Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said 234 samples have been tested in the last day and nine people have tested positive. Speaking to the press on Tuesday, she said 1668 people have been monitored, out of which 508 have been discharged after completing the 14-day quarantine period.
So far, Kenya has recorded one recovery and one Coronavirus related death. The CAS said said the government is in the process of setting up and equipping isolation facilities, with the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital being equipped with a capacity of 300 beds. Schools will also be identified and used as isolation facilities in partnership with the County governments.
