3 more patients have tested positive with the Coronavirus, bringing the total number of patients to 31. Speaking to the press on Thursday, Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said the three new cases are women aged between 30 and 61 years and are close contacts of patients who’ve already tested positive. Two of them are from Kilifi and one is from Nairobi, and they have been placed in isolation, being monitored by medical personnel.
So far, the number of close contacts stands at 1,029. 123 people have been discharged after completing the 14-day quarantine period. 18 people are currently awaiting tests at Mbagathi hospital.
The government has also affirmed that there should be one centre of communication, hours after Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya confirmed one of the Coronavirus patients hails from Mumias West in Kakamega County. So far, one patient has fully recovered from the Covid-19.
