2 more patients have tested positive for the Coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 191 in Kenya. Speaking to the press on Saturday, Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi said the results are out of 491 tested samples. The 2 patients are from Nairobi and Mombasa, one being a 2-year-old child and the other aged 32 years. 2,054 contacts have been monitored so far, with 1,546 discharged, while 508 contacts are being followed.
The number of patients who have recovered has increased to 24 after 2 more people were released from the treatment facilities. The CAS has urged Kenyans to continue observing the directives by the Health officials which include regular washing of hands with water and soap, social distancing, wearing masks and staying at home.
On his part, Ministry of Health DG Dr. Patrick Amoth said the capacity to conduct more tests will be enabled by availability of new equiiment, which will enable 2,000 to 3,000 tests to be conducted in a day.
