Nandi County has become the latest county to have a Covid-19 patient, according to Health CEC Ruth Koech. She said the case was picked up on Sunday evening and he was a truck driver who was coming from Mombasa to Nandi. She said that the driver had registered at Mai Mahiu that he was travelling to Eldoret and was tested at the entry point. His result turned out positive and he was traced from Eldoret upto Nandi, where he was found.
The Health CEC revealed that the surveillance team is on the ground doing contact tracing with the patient currently at Nandi Hills Hospital at the Isolation Unit. “He is asymptomatic and is in our isolation center at Nandi Hills sub-county hospital and those who came in contact with him are urged to cooperate with the public health team to be put on quarantine for their own and citizens’ safety,” she said.
