The Ministry of Health on Thursday confirmed 141 new Covid-19 cases, raising Kenya’s total to 37,489. Briefing the country, Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi said the cases were picked from 3,307 samples tested in the past 24 hours. The youngest is a 4-year-old while the oldest is 74-years-old. All the cases are Kenyans except 7.
81 patients have recovered, taking the total recoveries to 24,334. 69 were discharged from different hospitals, while 16 recovered under the home based program. The fatalities rose to 669 after 5 more patients succumbed to the virus.
Trans Nzoia recorded the highest number of new cases per County for the first time, with 28 cases in the last 24 hours.
Other counties with cases include Nakuru 24, Nairobi 14, Migori 8, Turkana 5, Bungoma 2, Murang’a, Busia, Nyeri and Vihiga with 1 case each.
