President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned of dire consequences on all those who will disregard the Ministry of Health’s directives geared towards combating the spread of the Coronavirus.
Speaking at State House on Monday, President Kenyatta emphasized the need for Kenyans to follow the protocols that have been laid down by the Health Ministry. This comes after Kilifi Deputy Governor was the focus on Sunday after he flouted self quarantine rules, having jetted in from Germany. The DG, Gideon Saburi, mingled with residents and attended events, notwithstanding the fact that he was later tested positive with the Coronavirus. “The government will take the severest action against any individual who knowingly breaches these laid down conventions and procedures and in turn put the rest of the population at risk,” said President Kenyatta.
Kenya has so far recorded 15 cases, with 8 new cases added on Sunday. At least 300 people are being traced after coming in contact with the 8 new patients.
