Education CS Prof. George Magoha has reiterated there will be an equitable distribution of funds to schools countywide. Sp[eaking in Kisii after inspecting the ongoing new curriculum training, CS Magoha said the government has already released funds to the education sector. “The government has released to us Kshs 1.5 billion. What I shall ensure, Kenya being a rainbow country, that that fund shall be distributed fairly and equitably unless a school requires affirmative action for any particular reason.”
The CS had outlined the same during his first press address at the KICD in Nairobi after taking over the education docket. Magoha said under his guidance, the Education Ministry will ensure every child gets what is due to him or her, “There is no such thing as a private Kenyan child or a public one, and from my perspective, every child in this country has exactly equal rights.”
Distribution of resources is one of the main tasks facing the CS, given that the new curriculum calls for resources and material that will facilitate its implementation. On the CBC, he has insisted that its implementation can’t be stopped, and the training that started on Monday is ongoing, despite calls form KNUT leadership urging teachers to boycott the same.
