Education CS Prof. George Magoha has affirmed that schools won’t be closed despite a surge in Covid-19 cases in the recent weeks. Speaking to the press on Thursday, Magoha said the exam timetable will also remain intact, “We are not planning to shut down because of Covid-19, for now the time table for the examinations remains and children should be urged to continue to prepare,” he said.
He urged parents to be patient, when it comes to resumption of classes for other students, adding that no one should rush the other students back and direction will be issued when the right time comes, “Nobody wans our children to stay at home forever but it has to be a collective responsibility.”
He warned schools against recalling other classes, public, private and international schools, “So if anyone is bringing in more children than we had stated at the very beginning then we are going to react and we shall react swiftly,” he stated.
