ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru has urged investors to invest in Kenyan startups, citing that the benefits are clear and evident. During the launch of the Nairobi Innovation week, CS Mucheru reiterated the importance of investments, “One of the things I would say to investors is investing in Kenyan startups has a huge return,” he said, “This innovation week and the events are not for startups only but for those looking for places to invest and get a good return.” He said the challenge for many investors remains lacking an understanding of where the good opportunities are, however, there are people who have invested and have made good progress so far.
Moreover, he said President Uhuru Kenyatta’s unveiled Four Plan Agenda will cater for the needs of Kenyans and said innovation is key to realizing all the set targets, “For the next five years as part of the President’s agenda, if you look at the projects and areas he is focusing on, they’ll lead to more jobs and better lives for Kenyans,” he said, “And innovation is at the heart of everything.” He urged everyone interested in the innovation week to participate, given that it will also help to drive the President’s agenda forward.
