Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa, Kakamega Governor and Busia Governor on Friday met Teso elders in Okiludu, Teso South in Busia County. The leaders accompanied by other Western leaders, including former minister Musikari Kombo, and Bukusu elder Patrick Wangamati, continue with their efforts to affirm Western unity. It follows similar meetings with Bukusu elders in Bungoma and Saboti elders at Milimani in Trans Nzoia County on Thursday.
Ahead of the Teso meeting, CS Wamalwa said the main aim of the meeting is to ensure all communities living in Western region live united. Among the issues discussed include long term and short term floods recovery plans, revival of the main industries including the sugar, maize and cotton industries and permanent solutions to stop the perennial floods menace in the region including the construction of dykes and dams.
