Speaking at his office, CS Wamalwa said he availed the necessary information to the DCI to explain what he knows about the dams and clarify they weren’t under his jurisdiction. He said the project shifted Ministries a couple of times, “They were originally under the Ministry of Water and Environment and when I entered the Ministry of Water they had been moved to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, subsequently, they were moved to the Ministry of Devolution. When I came to this Ministry of Devolution they were actually here, later they were moved to the Ministry of East Africa region,” he stated.
The CS urged Kenyans to support the war on corruption and support the bodies mandated by the law to fight graft, including the DCI, “I ask Kenyans to cooperate with the DCI and to support the agencies that are investigating these matters and also to support the President’s fight against corruption in this country.” He said Kenyans shouldn’t politicize graft issues, and that the truth will soon come out.
