Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has urged Kenyans to be part of any talk on Constitutional change. Speaking in Kitale when he joined the Turkana community at Kipsongpo area to celebrate Christmas, he said
next year will be a Constitutional reform year, and said all Kenyans should play a role since it’s their right.
The Cabinet Secretary noted that many people have been depending on
politicians to decide their destiny without engaging themselves in Constitutional change and further urged residents to read the BBI report and make informed decisions based on their understanding.
He, however, disclosed that he will make his political stand when the
right time comes, hinting that he will be contesting the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat. The CS was forced to state his political stand by the crowd, calling him ‘Governor’ when he was addressing them, “I am going to make my political statement when the right time comes…you are like my parents and we shall talk. But I’m coming for the big seat in the County,” he said, amidst cheers from the crowd.
On the festive season celebrations, the CS said he set aside his time to join the Turkana community in their celebrations as it has been the norm every year. “I want to call upon the haves in the community to put in mind by
helping the have nots especially during this Christmas time as the
occasion means sharing what you have with others who don’t,” said Cs
Wamalwa.
