Judge David Maraga has been nominated as Kenya’s new Chief Justice. If approved by President Uhuru Kenyatta and the National Assembly, he will take over from retired Chief Justice Willy Mutunga.
The Judge is supposed to assume office with immediate effect. He came top among the candidates interviewed, a list that included Judges Jackton Boma Ojwang, Smokin Wanjala, lawyer Makau Mutua and Judge Roselyn Nambuye.
