“In most cases police officers and prosecutors find themselves appearing alone before judges without evidence, especially when affected victims and their relatives are gullibly compromised by the perpetrators of this heinous act,” Mrs. Karoki pointed out.
She appealed to schools, churches, women and youth leaders and other stakeholders to help security agencies root out the vice in the Sub County by creating awareness among locals on significances of reporting and providing evidence before the courts whenever such
incidences occurred.
The commissioner issued a stern warning to men who have developed the queer habit of waylaying or kidnapping innocent girls and defiling them, assuring members of the public that security department will not relent its effort in combating the menace.
“One wonders why such men can’t approach and seduce any of the many women around and some of whom are in fact looking for marriage partners,” wondered Karoki who, however, noted some of the defilers were actually married men.
