Dead woman found dumped near a school gate
Shock engulfed residents of Arwos village in Nandi county after the body of a 42 year old woman was on Tuesday morning found dumped near the gate of Arwos secondary school in Emgwen constituency.
Nandi Central Police Boss Joakim Mecha who confirmed the incident said the police received the report from the public that there was a body that had been found lying near the school compound and they acted immediately.
Mecha said the body had no physical injuries to tell whether the woman was murdered but they suspect to be a sudden death.
He said the public alleged that the woman was seen drunkard the previous day and they believed she might have died as a result of excessive alcohol consumption.
Mecha said the police have commenced investigation of the matter and the cause of her death could be established after the postmortem.
The body was taken to Kapsabet Referral Hospital mortuary a waiting the postmortem.
Elsewhere in Nandi south, residents of Kapkures village in Chepkurng’ung sub-location Aldai constituency were shocked to wake up in the morning with news of a man found death after he was murdered brutally by unknown gang stars.
Chepkurng’ung assistant chief Moses Chekuku who confirmed the incident said the body of Julius Kipkemboi a 45 year old father of five children and a resident of Kapkures village in Aldai was found lying 200 metres from his house.
It is suspected he might have been killed while on his way going back home.
He said the body had physical injuries on the head and neck which proved he was murdered.
The body was taken to Mbale Hospital Mortuary.
