Defence CS Raychelle Omamo has expressed her satisfaction with the report she has received from Vihiga Governor Wilber Otichilo and Vihiga County Commissioner Susan Waweru on the ongoing census exercise in the County. The Defence CS was in Vihiga County to check on the progress of the exercise, with less than two days to its culmination.
She said the report she got from enumerators and the residents she spoke to in her visit proved there is a great level of commitment and she urged the residents to have the same cooperation when it comes to upcoming government projects.
She was accompanied by the Deputy Head of Public Service Wanyama Musiambo who expressed his delight with the pace at which the census exercise is being conducted. He insisted that Vihiga county needs to have a 100 percent count so that the County fully benefits from the national government’s resource allocation.
During her visit, the CS toured the geospatial laboratory. She saw how the County government could assess the needs of Vihiga residents at the click of a button. For instance, selecting a ward clearly showed all the important features in the ward, the type of disease suffered commonly by locals in the region the number of medical staff and schools in the ward, hence enhances proper and effective planning.
