Deputy Government spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga has defended the President’s trip to the United States, urging Kenyans to focus on the benefits of the visit while dismissing claims of LGBTQ.
During the Suala Nyeti show on West FM on Friday, Chidzuga said Kenyans are really focusing on the travel costs of the President to USA and not looking at the goodies he got during his visit.
She said shortage of vaccines in some hospitals in certain Counties in the country is an issue to be addressed by County governments as health in the country is devolved saying despite the national government partnering with County governments they have the responsibility of addressing healthcare challenges facing Kenyans.
She said the government, in collaboration with private organizations, has set plans to ensure dams are put up to help curb the flooding problem which has been rampant across the country citing Kapkara Dam in Sirisia Constituency that the President will launch today.
She has advised youth to embrace technology alongside embracing technical education to acquire skills beneficial for their lives since it will help them acquire job opportunities both within the country and even abroad.
She has called on Kenyans to collaborate with the government by paying taxes to facilitate development projects, urging leaders to push development agenda to secure funding for projects that benefit Kenyans.
Regarding the issue of electricity, she said the government has set strategies to ensure every corner of the nation is connected to electricity to facilitate numerous electricity-dependent projects.
She added that the issue of compensating farmers who bought fake fertilizer is being addressed by the relevant ministry, stating that strict legal measures will be taken against those involved.
She said construction of modern markets was one of the Kenya Kwanza’s agenda, therefore the President has honoured it and already markets are being put up.
She used the opportunity to welcome all Kenyans in the Madaraka Day 2024 celebrations at Masinde Muliro Stadium in Bungoma County on Saturday June 1st.
