A family of a disabled pupil from Osipata village in Teso South sub county, Busia County is overjoyed after their son received two wheelchairs from well wishers. Ezekiel Omong’or has been scrolling on the ground while going to school and church for the last ten years after his wheelchair broke down. His father David Osiel said he had gone to various government offices including that of people living with disabilities in Busia County for assistance in vain.
West Media highlighted the sad story of the standard four boy at Apegei school for the disabled and after one week, two well wishers from Busia County and Nairobi came out and bought him two wheelchairs, “After the story ran on West TV and radio, I got calls from several people but later I got two wheelchairs from two different people.”
Apart from the two chairs which cost Kshs 18,000 each, another group of locals identified as Masafa Express donated foodstuffs and other items including masks and soap to the family. The overjoyed family thanked West Media together with the well-wishers for the aid, “I even don’t know what to say because we didn’t expect this. West Media may God bless you abundantly. Similarly, those who donated let God bless you and your families, I’m so grateful,” the emotional Osiel stated.
