Doctors have been told to end the ongoing strike or risk jail term. The ruling was made in the Labour court, and judge Hellen Wasilwa made it clear that they have two weeks, “If the strike is still on, you will be arrested,” she said.
She said the matter can only be resolved if the doctors end their strike, and she told them off for disobeying court orders. She added that the doctors’ CBA, in the middle of the wrangles, isn’t more important than the lives of Kenyans.
On Tuesday, arrest warrants were issued for KMPDU officials. The strike has taken the attention of Kenyans for weeks now, with a clear plan yet to be established to end it, and it remains to be seen what will be the latest move from the medical practitioners’ unions.
