Africa Divine Church Archbishop John Chabuga has said politics should not be brought in matters education in the country.
This comes a few days after a section of leaders aligned to Kenya Kwanza movement who said when they take over the government the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) will be reviewed.
Speaking while presiding over cheques for needy students from Bishop John Chabuga Community foundation at the Church headquarters at Boyani in Vihiga County Chabuga termed the move as retrogressive.
He said the ministry of education should be given time to fully implement the curriculum adding that its well suited to improve education in the country.
Chabuga urged the government to release funds for schools on time to enable them run their programs without interruptions.
“Many schools are struggling running their programs and am calling upon the government to disburse these funds on time to enable them run their programs well,” Chabuga reiterated.
He added that the church is more focused on matters education, and each member of the church contributes Ksh 100 every month to sponsor bright and needy students in Vihiga County and a few other neighboring Counties.
Chabuga noted that his foundation was established in 2015 and it has sponsored more than 300 students from various institutions in the country.
He called upon parents to provide for their children despite harsh economic times and make sure they complete their education.
