Teachers have been called upon not to send learners home for school fees during this last term of the school calendar.
Kimaeti ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Jack Wambulwa told teachers during the Mashujaa celebrations that learners should remain in school as the government is working on the methodology of ensuring that they get bursary allocations.
Wambulwa said that it’s not the parents’ fault to delay paying school fees but this was caused by the tough moments brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the other hand, former Bumula MP and Bungoma County Senatorial seat aspirant Moses Mwambu Mabonga congratulated head teachers who are trying to step up the academic standards of their learners.
Mabonga, otherwise congratulated the President for fulfilling the promises he made to Western Kenya residents during campaigns of ensuring that they occupy higher offices in his government.
The leaders who attended the Mashujaa celebrations in Kimaeti Sub-County insisted on the security of the residents and urged the police to be making patrols every time to assure residents of their security.
