Property of unknown value were destroyed while fire razed down a temporary dormitory at Goseta Boys High school in Trans-Nzoia County on Thursday evening. The fire whose cause has not been established broke out at 8.45PM.
According to the principal Mr. Murumba, the fire broke out while students were attending evening preps.
He said the destroyed dormitory was a temporary structure housing for some students.
” It was a temporary structure covered and roofed with iron sheets and we don’t know what caused the fire,” said Murumba.
He claimed during the incident that nobody was injured but all property belonging to the students were reduced to ashes.
“We cannot suspect whether it was an electric fault or arson but the fire was strong and uncontrollable. We lost all student’s belongings,” said Murumba.
Detectives from Kwanza led by local OCPD Mr. Alfonse Kimathi visited the institution to access the damage and probe the incident. “We have launched investigations to established the cause of the fire,” said Kimathi .
