Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has flagged off a consignment of subsidized fertilizer to various parts of the country.
Speaking while at Harambee House Annex, the DP said the commissioning is in accordance with a directive from the President during his inauguration ceremony as he took over power from the former regime where he said the government will create interventions meant to make fertilizer affordable to farmers.
He urged the farmers from the regions where the fertilizer will be delivered to go to National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) and Sub-Depots to access it.
He also announced that the new fertilizer prices will be; DAP (shs.3,500), CAN (shs.2,875), UREA (shs. 3,500), Ammonia (shs.2,220), NPK (shs.3,275) and MOP (shs.1,775)
Gachagua flagged off a consignment of 426,000 bags of DAP fertilizer for farmers across Kenya.
