Deputy President William Ruto has urged NASA leaders to face competition from worthy competitors instead of targeting IEBC officials ahead of the fresh polls. During his campaign trip to Namwacha in Bungoma County, DP Ruto faulted Raila Odinga, “We defeated him on 8th August and now he wants to tussle against Chebukati and Chiloba. If you are a total man, compete with people who measure up to your stature, not weaker opponents,” he said.
The Deputy President who had pitched camp in an area perceived to be the opposition stronghold, brushed off claims that the elections had been rigged, given that they scooped many seats in the race, “We defeated them in many seats, including senatorial, gubernatorial, Member of parliaments, MCAs, woman representatives, now why are they faulting the presidential votes,” he said.
Former Bungoma gubernatorial aspirant and ODM member Alfred Khang’ati was also officially welcomed to Jubilee, with the DP lauding the move, “I welcome you to Jubilee so that we work together,” he said. Khang’ati cited frustrations in NASA as the reason which influenced his decision, saying the region is now under the Jubilee umbrella, “NASA is gone, now we are supporters of Jubilee,” he said, as the crowd cheered.
The Deputy President was accompanied by Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, Ababu Nmawmaba, Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama among other leaders.
