Deputy President William Ruto has said development is currently being witnessed in Kenya under the government’s Big Four Plan. Addressing Kenyans during the Jamhuri Day celebrations at Nyayo Stadium, Deputy President Ruto noted that after the general elections President Uhuru Kenyatta had called for support in continual transformation in Kenya and continual expansion of friendship bridges and unity, “Today in this Jamhuri, there is enormous effort and there is enormous progress that has been achieved on those two fronts,” said DP Ruto. He said under the Big Four Plan, the continual transformation of Kenya is being witnessed.
Many leaders were present during the function at Nyayo Stadium, but perhaps the ones who epitomized the President’s efforts to bring leaders to work under a common development agenda and the setting the focus on uniting Kenyans regardless of their political views were former premier and ODM leader Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula. DP Ruto said the presence of leaders from different affiliations is a clear testimony of the unity of the country, the maturity of Kenya’s democracy and the progress of the nation.
