Deputy President Dr.William Ruto has accepted the nomination for party leader and flag bearer of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in the coming August general election.
DP Ruto was unveiled as the party’s leader and flag bearer by the NDC at the Kasarani Gymnasium Nairobi during the UDA National Delegates Conference (NDC).
‘’Today is a historic moment for UDA because we are not where we were a year ago; it is the effort, the commitment and the hard work of many people in Kenya. It is now the largest party in the Republic of Kenya, ‘’ stated Ruto.
DP Ruto also thanked the party delegates for the work they have done in guiding the hustler nation through a transparent nomination process and for their consideration in bestowing upon him the immense responsibility of representing the UDA in the forthcoming presidential elections.
‘’I am profoundly humbled and immeasurably honored. I accept to be the presidential candidate of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in the forthcoming election, “he said.
‘’Our competitors believe that this nation should be about a few people who will deliver for state power. This country is not all about leaders but about fifty million Kenyans. They also want to bring back the BBI monster because they want to create an imperial presidency, “he revealed.
‘’Our competitors are the masters of monopoly, the agents of conflict of interest, and the agents of state capture; we must free our country and agriculture from cartels and brokers, “said the DP
DP Ruto said that it is tragic that the only thing he can remember that the handshake has done on matters economy is to borrow 7 trillion in the last 5 years.
Either Ruto revealed that after 2017 elections President Uhuru told him that he needed space to work to build his personal legacy of which he honoured and added that there was no duty that the President assigned him to do that he never delivered.
