Deputy President William Ruto pitched camp at Bumula on Sunday and pledged goodies to the residents in what was part of his forays in the Western region during the weekend. He said the government has set aside Kshs 900 million for the electrification program and more than 60% of the people are set to benefit.
He was speaking during a fund drive at Muanda in Bumula constituency Bungoma County, where he reiterated that the suspects in the fake gold scandal shouldn’t drag President Uhuru Kenyatta. The DP had already come to the defence of the Head of State during a visit to Trans Nzoia. He said the people who are involved in the gold scam are well known. He faulted the opposition for fighting the state when it comes to graft, and they are no caught in the web.
In attendance was Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, John Waluke of Sirisia, Webuye West’s Dan Wanyama and Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali among others.
Sirisia MP John Waluke called upon the Director Of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Hajj to take legal action against Raila Odinga for his involvement in the fake gold scam, saying it may lead to fractured economic partnerships between Kenya and other nations.
