Trans Nzoia leaders have defended Deputy President William Ruto’s Presidential bid. Led by Kiminini MP Dr. Chris Wamalwa, the leaders said the handshake shouldn’t benefit one side only. Speaking in Kitale, Chris said at the moment, DP Ruto is in pole position to be the next President, and faulted President Uhuru Kenyatta for showing signs of betraying the Deputy President’s trust, “Now he serves ten years, when the time comes for William Ruto to serve his ten years, he is showing signs of betraying him, is that fair? And I’m telling you, if the elections are held right now, William Samoei Ruto is the President of this country,” said the Kiminini MP.
He said whatever God has decided can’t be overruled, even if more scandals are brought up to try and block the Deputy President’s presidential bid. Endebess MP Robert Pukose said the handshake should be for everybody, and it shouldn’t be used to create unfair advantages. “But when it becomes issues of competition, let’s compete on a level playing ground, not using the handshake and propaganda to fight others,” he stated.
