Director of research at the Kenya national Museum Dr. Evans Taracha has come to the rescue of Seregeya residents in Likuyani ward, Likuyani sub county by by sponsoring the renovation of the neglected Township-Kambi Kilugu road.
Speaking after donating culverts and other material to the site for the rehabilitation of the severely damaged road, Dr. Taracha regretted the challenges faced by close to 1,000 people who depend on the road to access Seregeya trading center.
“It is disappointing that communication between Kambi Kilugu and Township village has been completely cut off due to the impassable road especially after Otanga dam broke its banks with water flowing and formed a stream across the road thus posing a great danger to the users especially children,” said Dr. Taracha.
He said he took the initiative to support in fixing the road following outcry from area residents whose cry had been ignored by the local leaders.
Dr. Taracha has promised to continue supporting various development projects in Likuyani Sub County aimed at benefiting the community and empowering economically.
Residents have thanked him for his philanthropic gesture saying the road has been neglected for several years by elected leaders.
