The driver of the vehicle that knocked down a form three student from Ivona Secondary School yesterday morning at Chavakali Market on Kisumu Kakamega road and took off has been accosted.
According to Mr. Elisha Othiambo the County Police Coordinator the driver of the Matatu was over speeding when he knocked down the Motorbike that was carrying the student and sped off.
The student died instantly and the motorbike raider is currently recuperating at Vihiga Referral Hospital.
The driver will be arraigned in court tomorrow.
Elsewhere the driver of a matatu plying Luanda Kakamega route was today arrested for ferrying bhang.
The Matatu was flagged down by Police officers after a tip off. The driver declined stopping a move that prompted the police to chase it, the driver stopped after the police shot at it.
The bhang that cost Ksh 300,000 street value had been parked in a bag and it was believed to be heading to neighboring Counties.
The driver will also be arraigned in court tomorrow.
