Two students of Eshikulu Boys secondary school in Likuyani sub county have been admitted in hospital with serious injuries following an accident that involved a personal car along Kitale – Eldoret road.
According to Likuyani sub county director of education Mr. David Esemele Mwandihi, the two Ian Omuchei and Collins Okwaro were walking home after school on Thursday evening when they were knocked by the vehicle at Reflector area few meters from Furfural trading center.

It’s alleged that the vehicle was over speeding before the driver lost control and veered off the road hitting the two who were walking by the road side.
The two boys suffered fractured legs and hands and serious head injuries before they were rescued by Mr. Iyadi Fundia an education officer from the area and rushed to Matunda sub county hospital where they received First Aid before being transferred to Moi Teaching and
Referral Hospital in Eldoret.
Angry residents who arrived at the scene attacked the driver threatening to lynch him after realizing that he was so drunk and even carrying several liters of alcohol in his vehicle.
He was later rescued by police and taken to Matunda police station as the officers launched investigation into the incident before arraigning him in court.
Mwandihi has appealed for appropriate legal action to be taken against the driver if it will be confirmed that indeed he was driving while drunk.
