Vihiga County champions Ebwali Secondary school shocked Kakamega County champions St. Peter’s Mumias with a 1-0 defeat in a match that was played at Bungoma High School in Bungoma County, as the Western region Secondary Schools ball games entered day two on Wednesday.
The only goal of the match came in the second half, with the result leaving St. Peter’s Mumias in a tricky situation as they must fight hard to ensure they collect maximum points in their next two fixtures.
In the other group B match, Bungoma County finalists Maliki secondary school secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Mabunge, finishing the match with 10 players after one of them was red carded. Maliki now tops the group with 3 points, tied with Ebwali with only two teams from each group expected to qualify for semifinals.
