The Principal Secretary State Department for Early Learning and Basic Education Dr. Julius Jwan has welcomed the Deputy President’s Dr. William Ruto change of heart in supporting the Competence Based Curriculum (CBC) saying it is a good move.
Jwan cited that earlier, there were reports that the Kenya Kwanza team were threatening to scrap the new education system if they assume office in August polls therefore, it is good to have heard from the horse’s mouth that the idea has been reversed and that CBC is there to stay.
“CBC is a practice of teaching and learning and it cannot be scrapped off easily because there is nothing to go back to,” Jwan affirmed.
He has asked parents to stay calm and avoid worrying much adding that CBC is there to stay and as Ministry of Education are very happy concerning the Deputy President’s sentiments.
The Principal Secretary affirmed that they are putting more structures in learning institutions to accommodate the new education system thus parents should not worry much as everything is in control.
