The International Conference of Great Lake Region (ICGLR) observer missions say General Election was free, fair and transparent.
ICGLR mission headed by General Hassan Bushra of Sudan said it hopes the final result will reflect the will of the Kenyan people who woke up early on August 8th 2017 to elect their chosen leaders.
Addressing the media in a separate presser in Nairobi Crowne Plaza hotel, the mission said the process was credible and hoped the it will reflect in the final results being processed.
The observer mission team commended the IEBC for professionalism in conducting the elections saying biometric identification enhanced credibility of the exercise.
Elsewhere, Former South Africa President and the now head of the African Union Election Observer Mission Thabo Mbeki said the voting process, counting and transmission of results by IEBC met the standards set by Kenya and AU for a democratic election.
He called on all stakeholders to work together to address the concern.
John Kerry,The Head of The Carter Centre Election Observer Mission in Kenya restated the commitment of the international community to continue supporting Kenya in its pursuit of democracy.
Kerry says Kenya’s ability to secure its voting system “appears to be very, very strong” as violence over Tuesday’s voting in the country’s presidential election erupted across the country.
The former US Secretary of State spoke to the media at the IEBC National Tallying Centre (Bomas) that there was need for leaders to inspire confidence among citizens even as the electoral commission continues to process presidential election results.
He expressed confidence in the credibility of August 8th 2017 polls saying everything was being done well and commended the IEBC.
He further called for patience from the electorate until the process of collating the results is concluded.
