Kakamega County women representative Elsie Muhanda has called on the BBI proponents to ensure that the Woman senator maintains the National Government Affirmative Action Fund.
Speaking in Kakamega after attending an AGM for KAKOMA SACCO, the County Mp said that the Affirmative fund has tremendously changed the lives of vulnerable people in the society, and scrapping it off will be disastrous to many lives that have depended on it.
Muhanda also added that it was unfortunate that the views to maintain the fund was shared before the BBI steering committee but up to now they seem not to have been captured in the report.
She insisted that the role played by the Fund cannot be ignored, arguing that there is still time for such considerations.
