In a powerful demonstration of commitment to community and economic development, Hon. Martin Pepela Wanyonyi, alongside former Mihuu ward MCA John Nanyakha and Gender advisor in the office of Bungoma Governor Flora Namalwa, made a significant contribution to the Mama Mboga Association of Women at Misikhu Market in Ndivisi Ward today. This initiative is part of a broader socio-economic investment aimed at fostering empowerment and driving sustainable growth within the county.
Hon. Wanyonyi emphasized that his administration remains steadfast in prioritizing the issuance of Uwezo Fund, a key program designed to enhance women’s participation in enterprise and build their capacity across various sectors. This support is expected to multiply opportunities, expand incomes, and elevate the overall welfare of the community.
Addressing the assembled mothers, Hon. Wanyonyi announced an additional measure to support local education. Beginning in January 2025, all students from local day schools will be eligible to receive bursaries funded by his office, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their educational aspirations.
In a gesture of solidarity and support, Hon. Wanyonyi also presented a special contribution from the National Assembly Speaker, further reinforcing the commitment to community development and empowerment.
