King Charles III and Queen Camilla arrived in the country last night in a state visit that will see the royal couple pay a visit to different places in the country.
The royal couple from England were received by Prime Cabinet Secretary who is also the CS in charge of Foreign Affairs Musalia Mudavadi alongside British ambassador to Kenya Neil Wigan.
On Tuesday morning King Charles and Queen Cammilla paid a visit to President William Ruto and First Lady Mrs. Recho Ruto at state House Nairobi. They were accorded a 21 gun salute, and later had a private discussion with their host President William Ruto and First Lady Mrs. Recho Ruto.
The Royal Couple from England later paid a visit to the historic Uhuru Park. Uhuru Park is historically a place where the very first Kenyan flag was raised in 1963 when Kenya attained it’s independence from England.
The historic site is also a host to the tomb of unknown warriors who lost their lives fighting for freedom. The Two leaders also laid wreaths at the tomb site in memory of the freedom fighters.
President William Ruto and King Charles III are expected to engage in lengthy discussions on matters that are of value to the two countries.
The issues at the center of discussion between two countries will include strengthening the ties that the two countries have shared since. Trade and investment, youth and environmental affairs are matters that will also feature in the discussion between the two leaders.
The England Royal couple will be in the country for a four day state visit.
