The price of Kerosene has increased by Kshs 0.44 per litre, highlighting the continued strain on low and middle income families in Kenya. Subsequently, the prices of Super Petrol and Diesel have decreased by Kshs 4.76 per litre and Kshs 1.08 per litre respectively, offering a sigh of relief for motorists countrywide. This is after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA)announced price changes on Monday, effective October 15th to November 14th.
EPRA noted that the price changes are due to the weighted average cost of imported refined petroleum products. In Nairobi, Kerosene will retail at Kshs 101.08, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 108.05 and Diesel will retail at Kshs 101.96.
The prices in some major towns in Western Kenya are as follows; In Kakamega, the price of Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 109.62, Diesel will retail at Kshs 103.73, Kerosene will retail at Kshs 102.84. In Bungoma Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 110.27, Diesel will retail at Kshs 104.37, and Kerosene at Kshs 103.50. In Kitale, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 109.87, Diesel will retail at Kshs 103.97 and Kerosene will retail at Kshs 103.10. In Busia, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 110.76, Diesel will retail at Kshs 104.86 and Kerosene will retail at Kshs 103.99.
In Malaba, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 110.70, Diesel at Kshs 104.81 and Kerosene at Kshs 103.92. In Webuye, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 109.74, Diesel will retail at Kshs 103.84 and Kerosene will retail at Kshs 102.97. In Kapenguria, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 110.25, Diesel will retail at Kshs 104.35 and Kerosene at Kshs 103.47. In Eldoret, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 109.56, Diesel will retail at Kshs 103.66 and Kerosene at Kshs 102.79. In Kiminini, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 110.08, Diesel will retail at Kshs 104.18, and Kerosene will retail at Kshs 103.31.
