Kenyan government has favoured Ugandan products over those sold by Kenyans across the border.
This was said by Matayos MP Odanga Geoffrey during Cross Fire show on West FM where he accused Kenyan traders of being lazy.
“Kenyan traders should wake up and get things done. They should stop staying at home and complaining all the time about the market,” says Odanga.
Honourable Odanga also pointed out that it’s not entirely the Kenyan traders fault and that the government should prohibit Ugandan traders from selling their products in Kenya just the way Uganda has done.
He added that if this move becomes difficult an equal ground should be created for both Ugandan and Kenyan traders across the border.
However, Matayos legislator used the opportunity to highlight some of the projects he has done since he was elected in 2017 and these include; renovation of the St. Mary’s Mundika high school’s administration block, issuing scholarships to needy students, built extra classrooms and laboratories in every secondary school in his constituency, renovation of chief camps and police stations among others. He mentioned that this year around 8000 students have benefitted from the bursaries issued as part of his projects.
His main aim when he got elected as the MP of Matayos was to improve the education and the security sector. He plans on continuing with these projects and many more if he gets elected for another term in the August 9th general election. “I am planning on continuing with these projects if I get elected for the third term as the MP of Matayos,”MP odanga said.
