It’s a relief for Kenyans as the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) announced a reduction in petroleum pump prices countrywide. The price of Super Petrol has decreased by Kshs 4.12, Diesel by Kshs 6.28 and Kerosene by Kshs 5.20 per lite respectively. In a statement, ERC noted that the pump prices are inclusive of the 8% Value Added Tax in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2018 and are as a result of the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene decreasing by 7.23%, 11.29% and 3.92% respectively.
The new petroleum prices will be inn force from Friday 15th February to 14th March 2019. As a result of the price reduction, Super Petrol in Nairobi will cost Kshs 100.09 per litre, Diesel will cost Kshs 95.96 per litre, and Kerosene will cost Kshs 96.50 per litre.
