Eric Kiraithe is the new appointed national government spokesman.
This comes after the government made significant changes to its communication team to ensure timely and coordinated communication to the public on matters relating to national government agenda.
Kiraithe has been the general manager for security services at the Kenya Airports Authority and former National Police Service spokesman having a long history of public service especially on matters of security.

He is expected to take up his new post immediately.
A statement by the Deputy Chief of Staff and Deputy Head of Public Service of the Government of Kenya Nzioka Waita said the Office of the National Government Spokesperson will function from the State Department of Interior and Coordination of National Government while the Office of the State House Spokesperson will remain within the Executive Office of the President.
Initially the office of Government Spokesman was last held by Muthui Kariuki, before him the office was run by the current governor of Machakos county Dr. Alfred Mutua.
The office was abolished a few months after the Jubilee Government took power.
Manoah Esipisu remains the State House spokesman.
