Bungoma County Governor Wyclifee Wangamati has unveiled his running mate a day after the one he had nominated resigned citing false allegations by their opponent’s more specifically the Ford Kenya party.
Wangamati has disclosed Evans Murumba from Webuye East as his running mate few minutes before he was to be cleared by IEBC to defend his seat in the August polls.
Wangamati unveiled Maclean Sitati Nangalama as his running mate in an event held in Tongaren last month.
There were allegations that Sitati had not resigned as a Constituency manager the allegations he rubbished off saying he is only but a Member of Parliament’s nominee and not a civil servant.
The allegations could have led Wangamati not to be cleared following the electoral laws where civil servants were supposed to resign on or before February 9 deadline before vying for any seat.
Sitati urged Wangamati to nominate another running mate and assured him of his support.

Evans Murumba was vying for Webuye East parliamentary seat on ODM but got shortchanged in a meeting that was attended by ODM Secretary General Edwin, Aggrey Namisi, Noah Chiuli and Alips Butiya that led the party to settle on Aggrey Namisi as ODM candidate in Webuye East.
He remained active in politics and assured his supporters of the way he will be guiding them to follow.
The duo will be vying on DAP-K and will be facing off with Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka (FK) and Zacharia Barasa (UDP)
Senate Speaker chose his running from Mt. Elgon, Janepher Mbatiany and Zacharia Barasa chose Kingsley Mutali from Webuye East as his running mate.
