A family in Naitiri, Tongaren constituency is in a sombre mood after identifying the body of their daughter, Centrine Nafula, who was involved in the road accident that claimed 12 lives at Kaburengu along the Webuye-Eldoret highway last month. Speaking after identifying the body of his late daughter who was a student of Kibabii University, Mr. Wafula Waiti, a former councilor, said the last time he was with his daughter, 17th December, she promised to come back home once she finished her exams. “She promised to come home immediately she was done with her exams and on 20th December she called me to ask for fare..,”he said, adding that on the tragic day her phone went unanswered.

He outlined that after the University reopened, he extended his search for her at the school, but he was informed by a security personnel in the university that his daughter was among those involved in the accident. He later went to Webuye Sub County mortuary and identified her body. Wafula said her loss has been very devastating to the whole family. Moreover, he faulted the Webuye police team who had the daughter’s documents but never contacted the family to inform them of her demise, “The documents I received form the police had my contacts but surprisingly they never called me and yet the accident happened a long time ago,” he revealed.
