Azimio La Umoja affiliated party Matulo ward candidate in the coming General Elections has pulled out of the contest and instead endorsed his opponent in Kenya Kwanza.
Chrispin Owino of Federal party which is an affiliate party of Azimio coalition hanged his boots a few days to election and now has declared his support to Stephen Kaiser Simiyu of Ford Kenya which is an affiliate party of Kenya Kwanza.
Addressing the media in one of restaurants in Webuye town, Owino said Matulo ward is bigger than any individual and because his ambition, vision and manifesto resembles that of his opponent, he has decided to support him and added that he believes in his heart that he will work together with minority groups in the larger ward which is inhabited by almost all tribes of Kenya.
“I am not a coward but have decided to support my elder brother Steve because his manifesto and mine seems to intermarry especially when it comes to working together with minority groups which have been neglected for a long time by the past two regimes ” said Mr. Owino.
He added that he carefully interrogated the manifestos of all aspirants and found that Steve Kaiser’s manifesto was the best and after consulting with his supporters across Matulo ward in Webuye West constituency, they settled on Ford Kenya candidate and promised to crisscross the whole ward to campaign for his new friend and make sure they win come 9th August.
“We have only one ultimate goal, to win this election, Matulo is bigger than all of us that’s why Ihave shelved my ambition and fully rally behind my brother regardless of our coalition differences,” he added
This act was welcomed by Ford Kenya candidate Stephen Kaiser Simiyu who congratulated his opponent for seeing it fit to support him and affirmed his commitment to change the face of Matulo people by combining the two manifestos and working together with his supporters.
” I know how hard it may have taken you to make this decision, it’s not easy but I want to sincerely thank you and welcome you warmly to our big family and I appeal to you to support me fully but again I want to assure you that every resident of Matulo ward deserves services regardless of the tribe, race or color, we all belong here and gone are the days when some people are discriminated because of one reason or the other, I will involve each and every one in my administration, ” said Simiyu.
The supporters of the two candidates led by Mr. Jacob Onyango also supported the idea and that will make work easier and its a guarantee of success in the forthcoming election for the two sides.
“This is a big boost to Steve and a milestone to all of us and together we need to win this seat early and start working for the people of Matulo who are yearning for change and this is the beginning,” said Mr. Onyango.
