Tongaren Member of Parliament Dr. John Murumba Chikati has finally taken over the area Constituency office marking the official start of his operation at the facility even as he strives to serve the people of Tongaren.
Dr. Chikati has taken over from the former Member of Parliament Dr. David Eseli Simiyu who once served the larger Kimilili Constituency from 2007 to 2013 before delimitation creating Tongaren constituency with which he has served for 10 years.
Dr. Eseli Simiyu however lost the seat on DAP-K ticket following the stiff competition that arose from Ford Kenya’s Murumba Chikati who finally won hence becoming the area Member of Parliament having eyed the Tongaren seat unsuccessfully since 2013.
Dr. Chikati has promised to complete all the stalled CDF projects that were started by his predecessor, promising to significantly change the face of Tongaren not only attractive to reside in but also bring in investors by enhancing good road networks, construction of laboratories, classrooms, water projects among other beneficial projects that are meant to make life worth living to common citizens.
He however, appreciated the outgoing MP for the good work he did for the last 15 years, despite the former MP missing the hand over function that was presided over by the former Constituency Manager Maclean Sitati Nangalama on his behalf.
