Two business owners in Bungoma are counting losses worth millions of shillings after fire razed down their property during the wee hours of Thursday.
Kevin Ndaliro who stays in the neighborhood says the fire ensued at 2 am on Thursday saying they rushed to the scene on a rescue mission but could not manage to put out the fire on time.
He says they tried to reach out to the Bungoma County disaster management team but they did not respond saying the fire brigade from Kakamega and Nzoia Sugar Company arrived way too late.
The residents have also expressed their fear saying the building needs to be demolished immediately after developing cracks so as not to experience deaths as it was witnessed at Kanduyi a few weeks ago.
The police have since condoned off the area as residents had started milling around the building with divert intentions.
