In a move aimed at strengthening grassroots leadership, Ford Kenya Secretary General, Dr. John Murumba Chikati, officially confirmed Major Wafula Mutacho as the interim chairperson for Trans Nzoia County.
The announcement followed a directive from the FK Management Committee, stemming from the recent elections held on September 29, 2024.
The elections were supervised by the party’s Director of Elections, Madam Khadija Mustapha, alongside national leaders such as Deputy Party Leader Milicent Omanga. The party is focusing on enhancing leadership across counties, with Trans Nzoia County being a key area for leadership development.
Speaking at a brief ceremony at the party’s headquarters in Simba House, Nairobi, Dr. Chikati called on party members and stakeholders to rally behind Major Mutacho.
He emphasized the importance of inclusivity, urging Mutacho to involve all stakeholders, even those who may hold differing opinions, in the leadership and management of the party.
“Ford Kenya has a rich history in shaping the political landscape of this country. As we approach the 2027 elections, we need to continue fostering growth and expanding our membership across the nation,” Dr. Chikati said.
The party is committed to playing a significant role in the upcoming elections, and leadership appointments like Major Mutacho’s are seen as pivotal in driving that vision forward.
In his new role, Major Mutacho is tasked with reorganizing the branch and spearheading efforts to recruit new members and candidates in preparation for the upcoming 2027 general elections. His military background and leadership experience are expected to bring a fresh perspective and strategic direction to the party’s operations in Trans Nzoia.
As Ford Kenya embarks on this new chapter, party members and supporters are encouraged to rally behind Mutacho, fostering a united front as they aim for success in the next electoral cycle.
